The tea harvested from this single ancient tree is already incredibly complex and smooth, offering notes of lemongrass, banana and aloeswood, which combine with a bright mineral finish. Head Tea Guy Simon says it's the most mellow and relaxing Sheng he has ever tasted!
We are offering a very limited number of Gongfu tastings during the weekend of March 26 from this specially purchased tea cake with the intention of repeating the tastings each year for five years, as we watch the tea evolve and mature. Those who purchase a ticket for this year will recieve priority for next year, and so on. Each tasting (ticket) may be shared with up to four guests - it will last many infusions - and includes a selection of mochi or cookies to accompany the tea. Just come to the shop any time over the weekend, present your ticket and we'll set you up!
